I am having problems with the white Brightside primer. I am painting an old Hobie Cat sailboat (I know it's not a kayak, but the hulls kind of look like two kayaks :)- I am building a Chesapeak 16 by the way). My dad and I sprayed the primer on the decks and after two days it hasn't hardened. We tried sanding it, but it was too soft and gummy and didn't sand well. My dad started whiping it off with the thiner. Is this a case of just not waiting long enough for the primer to cure, was it sprayed on too thick, or is there something else wrong? We brushed it on the hulls and it came out fine and sanded it the next day. Has anybody had any experience with this?
Thanks, Chris Glime
By the way, I have really enjoyed reading this forum and have picked up a lot of hints for building my kayak. Thanks
