Hi Jack,

I dreaded the thought of this job, but it turned out to be quite easy.

First I turned the boat on its side, rolled out the tape along the upper outside of the boat and cut it to length. Then rolled it back up from each end, so I ended up with a double roll of tape (like a scroll). Put the tape in a disposable plastic cup and poured epoxy over it (you gotta squish it with a stick or your gloved finger to wet it out properly). Then I placed the double roll on the inside seam, directly below the place where the two rolls met, and used a cheap 1" brush taped to a stick to unroll it. You have a fair amount of control over where the tape goes if you take your time. I left it for a couple hours and then did the other side. I got the tape well into the ends of the boat (within 3/4"-1/2" of the ends).

The whole process was very straight foward and took about ten minutes each side, afterwards I was mystified as to why I'd thought it would be difficult.

Hope this helps,

Paul.
