George, you have a point. everyone here uses tried and true methods to build and rarely deviate from the norm. this is certainly the best way to assure a good boat for the hours of work involved. You, on the otherhand do some very radical building methods that seem from time to time to rub the traditional boat building craftsmen the wrong way. I for one think that this disscusion group benifits from your "Left Field" experimentation. I love to read your posts (and responses) and may try some of your methods myself. please keep us posted on what new methods you are trying.
