2 years ago I did the RAGBRAI (Des Moines 'Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa') and saw a guy pulling a kevlar canoe on a trailer behind his bike. He had all his camping gear inside it. Apparently he had canoed down the Missouri River (with bike in canoe) to the start of the ride, rode all the way across Iowa, then paddled down the Mississippi.
Kind of a one-man Eco-Challenge...
