I cheated. There is no hatch in front. The rear was drawn out on CAD after the deck was finished, then carefully cut out with a saber saw. There is a 3mm okoume spacer ring and another 3 mm lip, and EPDM seals on both edges. The tiedowns look good but they leak, so I'm in the process of converting to conventional crosswise web straps.

The front hatch on Edgar Kleindinst's new boat is really neat, and I may "borrow" the idea for this boat. My boat has no front bulkhead either, although there is floatation foam in both ends. It takes on a lot of water in a capsize, so it will get one of those too.

The seat is morphing as well, so there will be some new pictures up shortly.
