> Greg I built a redwood srip canoe 2 years ago and have also noticed the glass appears to be more apparent. I'm not sure it's delaminating, but it has a knobby feel to it and is quite obvious. On close examination, it seems most prominent over the center of each strip and less so at the glue joints between strips. I'm speculating that the redwood is outgassing or otherwise reacting with the glass. I used System Three epoxy and had good solid adhesion at the time of building, but after two years of Sacramento heat (stored under cover) I'm quite dissapointed in the appearance.. I also built a cedar strip boat about 6 months later that is just starting to show some of this effect in small areas on the bottom, and two stitch and glue sea kayaks that have shown no problem after one year. Anybody have any ideas what this is?
