> Ross I glued and screwed a 3/8 brass strip on a clc Mill Creek, looks pretty. Flourescent yellow tennis ball bra for a too sharp bow on a clc 16, good conversation starter and makes one end of the boat easier to grab, sophisticated ergonomic design.
Other S@G boats got rounded off a lot , layered with many bias cuts of 4 oz. S-glass, painted trim stripe over that, one boat has about 4 layers of 4oz. ate the bow tip and doesn't look clear at all through the varnish but from a few yards the color is right and the lack of pure grain isn't noticable for those couple of square inches.
one boat has unidirectional carbon tape up the center seam and over the top end of the bow(don't ask why,it was just there) and it is very hard.
My general thoughts are that it is a hopeless effort to have pretty wood on areas of high wear and impact and that pointy bows are just plain dangerous. hope this helps
