Nearing completion of the deck of my Guillemot double and am trying to figure out the specifics of the cockpits. I bought Nick's book and plans but I'm not sure if the patterns and offsets are for the cockpit opening or for the cockpit recess. The Guillemot single's offsets include dimensions for both the opening and the recess. The double includes only one set of numbers. I'm gueesing that these are for the opening. Is there a reason I would not want/need a recess on the double?
