Lee's comments have me spooked a little. On my North Bay --- not as sharp as CLC's prototype (thank God) but still somewhat menacing --- I have rounded off enough of the "spear" to make the ends aesthetically pleasing and not seriously dangerous. But I have had to grind down through the 'glass, partially through the plywood and into the endpour to achieve this effect. I did not intend to cover the new "points" with glass, but rather to coat them sufficiently with epoxy to fair them out and then to paint over them, carrying the paint line over the nails. So, aesthetically, no problem. And this is clearly a day-tripper boat with no plans for expedition use --- beyond the second PB&J inside the deckplate in the after bulkhead! But I'm currently at the ideal time to alter the design; given this usage level and current plans, is the boat going to be adequately protected, preferably without a yellow tennis ball "bra"?
