Ross has some good ideas that are worth trying.
Before you actually do it for real, try some west pieces. I have used both printers and ink pens to mark under epoxy and varnish. Both can bleed badly. On the last boat, I bought several "indelible ink" pens and made samples and applied epoxy. One bleed very bad, 1 fair and the other I used.
Again, try test pieces before you put it on your boat.
