Simplist wat is to write the number on the boat in pencil and put a piece of glass over it . We write it on the hull before glassing (right side of stern, as required by USCG) and then glass over it. Also shoud put it one or two other places, so that if it is stolen and the visible one removed, you would sill know where to find the hidden number. AL
