I like the sound of that - nice and simple. No problems with deforming the edges of the hatch? or twisting? how did you hold the braces in place as the glue cured?

I tried making a jig to bend the hatch covers but ended up with a twist that resulted in leaks. My first simple solution - put the hatch seal on the deck rather than on the cover (believe it or not - it made a big difference), 2nd - silicone to fill gaps on hatch. Now I'm planing on converting to recessed hatches - I'll have to try your method for getting a good hatch curve.
