I am trying to get to the point where I can apply some varnish to my deck. I have coated the deck in 2 layers of epoxy and sanded through to the wood twice now. The CLC instructions say to make sure that you have sanded it so that no shiny spots remain. Is this totally necessary. Will 5 layers of varnish not fill slight depressions or what? I am running out of epoxy almost as quickly as I am running out of patience.

Your help is needed.
