The control end is hard to draw/describe for me, perhaps the best description is that I built a 3/4" wide slot 4 1/2" long, a small hole in each end to allow a cable to pass through. A control knob with a 5/32" hole in it is locked onto the cable with a set screw. The cable extends about 12" past the control box. this allows the control knob to be loosened off and extend the skeg blade far enough down to be removed. The pivot bolt actualy pierces the skeg box housing, the head and bolt are buried in dookie schmutz prior to glassing the exterior of the skeg box. I used brass fitting to ease cable housing replacement in the future. I don't know as I realy needed to. When the skeg blade is allowed to rotate about 100 degrees, the blade can be pulled rearward for removal. The blade is secured with a set screw also. The shaded areas are for the cable to enter the blade and a set screw to secure it. Hope that clears some finer points up.. I'll get a picture of the control slot with the knob installed tomorrow.
