Coho hole for handhold in bow

Following directions from Pygmy, I drilled a 1/2-inch hole through the end pour in the bow of my Coho 2 inches in from the boat's tip. It looks so close to the edges, I'm concerned it won't be strong enough to support the boat's weight after I add the hand-hold! Am I just being paranoid...?
