If you have a bandsaw it can be used for cutting panels for stitch an glue, or strips for a stripper. However, the table on most bandsaws is so small that it does not provide enough support for such large pieces of plywood and lumber. If you can build extensions for a bandsaw table that WOULD support big materials then it would be a fine tool.

With a sabre saw you can lay the panels flat over some scrap wood and work on top of, and around the material as you cut. You ca find some sabre saws that are relatively cheap They tend to have small motors and short strokes. If you want a more expensive one, you can find that too. They tend to have more features.

Since the wood for stitch and glue boats is relatively thin ( 3mm or 4 mm) cutting the materials (even if they are stacked to two or three thicknesses) is not going to be much of a strain on even the smallest of sabre saw motors.

I like using a radial arm saw for cutting strips. I use a thin kerf planer blade on it to give me smooth strips with hopefully a bit less sawdust. A table saw is preferred by many, but I think the table is too short on most table saws to support the wood. again, you can built extensions for the top to solve this situation.

hope this helps
