I built a Guillemot this winter/spring. I had built a S & G the previous year, but the Guillemot was my first attempt at making a stripper. I too was worried about the curved boat for a first attempt. I used Nick's book and just followed the steps. When I ran into a few small problems I got great help from the people on this bulletin board. I finished my boat a week ago (except for 2 small things to do inside the hull) and am very pleased. I second the suggestion about bead and cove strips. I also used 3/16" strips instead of 1/4" ones and they bent easier. The only other change that I would make if I was to do it again would be to follow Nick's suggestion and get a few narrower strips for the area around the hard chines. If you can follow instructions, get Nick's book and go for it. The book is excellent and very easy to follow.
