You can not effectively sand off hot glue but rather scrape it off. Sanding glue just gums up your sandpaper right away making it useless. Also, I only hot glue the Deck. The Hull is less visible and the curves are much tighter so stapling is the better option. I did not find hot gluing the Deck very difficult or time consuming. However, when you have to release the Deck off the forms, it took me about 2 hours to carefully remove the Deck. Even taking my time, there was one form near the stern with high curvature that was very stubborn. The putty knife actually diverted from the form and started to dig into the stripping causing the Glass to separted locally. Now I will have to sand through the Glass and reapply the Glass in that small area. Since that form was near the end of the boat, I was able to cut my losses by cutting the form in half and then remove the form once the entire Deck was separted off the Hull.
