Friends-
As a new high school teacher, I just gained access to the school woodshop! This will be a MUCH better place to build than my garage, but I'm afraid most of the tools, particularly the hand tools, are suffering from abuse/neglect. Everything needs sharpening - planes, chisels, gouges, etc...
My question is this - I found the old oilstone after hours of searching through cabinets, and it's a goodie, but isn't flat anymore. Needless to say, I'm reluctant to sharpen tools on it when it will grind everything into a gentle curve! Is there a way to re-true the surface of the stone, or do I need to bite the bullet and get a new one?
Also, can anyone recommend a plane and chisel roller-jig dude... I *know* they don't have one of these.
See ya on the water,
Nathan
