Hi Ross,
Surfyak is coming along really slow right now as work has been heating up and I can only get to it about 1 hr a day. I have about 8 decorative areas that are consuming tons of time but have managed last night to finish one and the others are progressing along in various stages. I've finally started again on the deck/cockpit area and am progressing there also. It's really handy being able to work all over the kayak.
However, because the strip design is a big 'one liner', I prob. won't show any full photos until I finish because I don't want to give the strip design away too soon! - you know - the big entrance ( I hope anyway )
Basically, I am having a great time playing with the cedar and sort of extending this part of the process out as it is (for me) so much fun to see the reality matching the idea.
Last weekend, I also took a detour and designed and built a few models of a different approach to a kayak sailing rig. It's quite provocative and I am spending a portion of my time nailing the parameters. - more on this later.
Anyway Ross - how about you? Getting out much? Any crying about scratches?
See ya later
Mike
