I am just finishing my Patuxent 19.5 and performed first water test yesterday. Boat is great, seating quite horrible - (un)happy bottom pad and Rapid Pulse Back Band.
I am considering to make my own seat from minicell foam. I have already search archives and Nick's book for this subject but I still have some questions.
Is it possible to glue two blocks of foam for this purpose (I have some 3x12" blocks which seems to be slightly too narrow)? Or it is better to work with wider block? So far, I have found only one source for wider foam blocks: Newfound Woodworks - 3"x24"x54" - $57. Any other options, especially, for smaller blocks?
Any comments on foam seat plans from Laughing Loon? I saw a picture of very nice foam seat in the the archive of this list. Was it made from these plans or was it independent design?
Thanks, Marek
