I have paddled both and prefer the North Bay. Both boats perform well in my opinion, but I am 5 ft 4 in, and for my size the North Bay is a better match. Also when I built the North Bay I modified it, something I couldn't do with the Artic Hawk. You can see what I did on my web site http://pages.cthome.net/bobbycurtis/index.htm
