I built my Guillemot from square edge planks exclusively, unless you are planking a flat surface you have to bevel If you want a good looking joint. Also you have to use more clamps because there is nothing to keep the planks aligned between stations. It is a major pain to do an entire boat this way, but for the really curvy areas it may be a lot easier.
