For those of who that live in the Northwest or may be traveling there this weekend - the annual Wooden Boat Show on Lake Union in Seattle will be held this this holiday weekend July 3,4,5. The show will be held at The Center for Wooden Boats on the south end of the lake.

There will be wood boats galore - from canoes to schooners. I know that there will be kayaks - skin-on-frame, stitch & glue, strippers, and folding/canvas in attendance - this is a good opportunity to see and talk kayaks.

If you have the opportunity, you should plan on attending. Take in Seattle's fireworks display Sunday evening (all set off from a barge in the middle of the lake) and if you have your kayak with you, help clean the spent fireworks from the lake afterwards (Monday?).
