If your concern is being visible underway, direct your attention to your paddle blades. I just crossed a bay with minimal swell, in a bright yellow kayak and yellow PFD. When I went ashore, the retired fisherman had seen me but couldn't figure out what I was, all they could see were my black paddle blades jumping up and down.
