I had a similar experience in building my Coho -- concentrating on the small picture too much. In my next boat, I'd snug all the wires very loosely and then carefully check the evolving shape of the hull. Then I'd gradually tighten wires while continuing to back-check to make sure the hull shape is fair. As far as epoxied seams giving way, that isn't a problem -- even if you have some space in the joint the second coat will fill it in without problem.
I built mine with many wires very tight and close. particularly at those
