Thanks for the info, Jan. The Meranti that I am refering to is supposed to be BS 1088 grade made in France. My problem is that my supplier can't promise me any Okume until at least mid-september and he can get the Meranti in two weeks. (and I'm about out of plywood - poor planning). The Meranti is cheaper, $25 vs $32, US in quantity. Guess I'll try some and see how it works. It does seem to look nicer. Grant
