i looked at the skeg on the linked page and wonder if the gaps around the skeg in the hull would slow you down by disrupting the flow of water .?

i was thinking of adding a fibreglass skeg with the graphite powder used in the hatch lips to make it black, or would i be better off finding a sheet material such as pvc( black pipes)?

should the skeg box be fitted with seals to cover the gaps?
