Would you please tell us which brand of epoxy you used. In my experience, amine blush is fairly easy to remove with plain water, although I have always washed it off within a few days of application. Possibly waiting longer makes removing any blush more difficult. I do know that most the epoxy manufacturers don't recomend using acetone due to possible contaminants in the acetone, (evidently the quality of the acetone that's available isn't that great). Possibly the acetone left a contaminated layer on the surface.

Was the epoxy underlying your last coat still in a green state, or did you sand the underlying coat? Some more details would be appreciated.
