Jack,
I don't think you'll have a problem switching brands. I would make sure that your base of MAS epoxy is cured beyond the green state, and I would sand the base to insure a mechanical bond - I wouldn't count on any type of chemical bond to take place.
I have never used MAS, but aren't their different hardeners compatible with one another? It might be cheaper to just buy some slow hardener from MAS for use with your remaining resin.
