Sounds like a great idea and I'll look in Home Depot for the spring clamps but I'm not sure I have a clamp that can reach to the center hatch brace. I made the hatches extra large because of the room I'll loose when I make them recessed. I'm assuming that you are recommending that I just glue down what I have and don't worry about starting all over again. That is my preferred method however, if another way is more secure I'm not against starting over. See my previous post for some ideas from the homefront.
