Sounds like something could have been spilled on the cloth (assuming that nothing was spilled on the wood). You could spot-patch those areas by sanding-off the cloth and putting on a fresh piece and rewet. You will have to determine if its worth the extra effort. If you do sand-off the circles, try not to hit bare wood because it will result in a slight color difference when re-wet. If the epoxy never wet-out the circles, if you leave them, you could have delamination problems later if the circles never adhered to the wood.
