With the tube fittings, another approach to eliminate the 45deg angle fittings would be to bend the pipe. Choose the smallest o/s diam that would accept 1/4 inch deck lines - hopefully 3/8" would work. Then just bend it in shallow 'U's coming up at about the 45 deg ea end. Put U in vice but only 3/8" (plus an rch more) and cut off horizontally w/ a hacksaw. Inset this 3/8" in the deck. File off the ends flush w/ the deck w/ a flatfile and voila you have a tube fitting that results in no inset holes.

As for the webbing fitting, stay tuned for part 3/10 - I've got a different method that I like just about best of all.
