Dear Mikael,
About the only thing that I would advise for sure is to not use solvents. From System Three's "The Epoxy Book:"
"We now recommend against using acetone or similar solvents for this, . Much acetone sold today is reclaimed and may have impurities that interfere with secondary bonding by leaving a film of residue on the surface."
I would also try my best not to sand into the weave. Maybe you could scuff-up the epoxy surface well enough using synthetic steel wool, or small tooth brush-sized wire brushes that get in and around the weave. Then just clean with plain water prior to the next coat.
Remember, my opinion may be worth exactly what you are paying for it!
