Hi DJ, It's cool to hear you're completing a Guillemot--I'm hoping to start one in the next month. I wish I'd have gotten into a really cool project like a kayak when I was your age. Are you taking wood shop? I'll bet you could enter your boat in your country fair once completed and probably really kick butt in your age group (and take home some cash premium $$ too!)

If you really want to paddle, it's more of a matter of finding a way to get your boat to some water, than finding some water. There's a lot of water out there--you just have to find it and then enjoy paddling what's available.
