bill, sounds like you've narrowed things down just fine. you have referred to a kayak that you are familiar with, if you weigh around 175 then the HP could be a "best" IF you like a very stiff tracking boat. my 2cents again. If maneuverability and low profile are more important then a north bay with a skeg would be a good alternative. oh heck , get the HP ....unless of course pygmy decides to make a 17 ft,narrow low volume version of the coho and you weigh 150
