I used internal bungies for securing the hatches on both my Panache and Guillemot. Though not as convenient to remove as hatches with external straps or bungies, it's really worth it to maintain the uncluttered deck. I made flush hatches on the Guillmot, and on my website I have a few pictures of how everything goes together. Good luck!
