How long until able to varnish

I saw the discussion below on how long one should wait before varnishing, but there was such a range from over night to 30 days. I checked Nicks book and couldn't find the answer. So does it need a full cure or an initial cure or some where inbetween. I am using MAS Epoxy and Captain Varnish Would appreciate some input Thanks in advance Tony
