Have you looked at the Pygmy GoldenEye 13, A shorter, lighter boat, designed for people about your size? Most people seem to focus the newest offerings, the Artic Tern and Coho. I've been thinking about the GoldenEye 13 for my daughter, (in a couple of years, since she is only 2 right now). I don't have any direct experience with that model other than looking at it in their showroom and web page.

I have put together two Pygmy Cohos, and they seem to go together pretty easily.

I think several of the other kayak kit vendors also offer smaller boats as well.
