I believe there are some manufacturers who sell molded foam seats like those in production model kayaks. If anyone has information, I'd like to hear where to get them. I also recently finished a Yare and have taken it paddling a few times with nothing but a t-shirt to pad my butt. Unfortunately, the cramped confines and the hard bottom put my feet to sleep after an hour or so, which made for a surprise soaking the first time I tried to get out and stand up. I'm thinking the comfortable production seats may be worth the money.
