Not wanting to shell out the $$ for another set of Thule H2GO saddles, and needing to hold more boats on the roof, I built a set of J-cradles to fit my existing rack. I modeled the shape after a kayak cradle I saw on a UK website. The cradles fit my Guillemot pretty well, but they won't hold my Panache (just not the right shape). I think that for the next set, I'll do more of a custom fitting. This was a fun, 1 week project, and I had most of the materials on hand. I think I had to spend about $10 for hardware.

I have some pictures of the construction on my website (the 'Cradle' link in the table of contents). I don't yet have pictures of them in-use; I'll post them in a day or so. But, I loaded the boat this morning, and used the trip to work as a dry run to test cradles and they held the boat rock-solid.
