I did not cut the cloth on the bias, just straight down the length of it. Measure the hull and deck before cutting to decide the best widths. I had about one inch to spare at the widest point. I found the easest way to cut the fibreglass cloth is to use a rotary wheel and cutting board, it makes a nice clean cut. If you don't know what I mean by a rotary wheel, ask a friend that does a lot of quilting.
