The Putz Walrus is actually a Skene Walrus resurected by George Putz in his book "Wood and Canvas Kayak Building". I have not seen any pictures on the internet, but there should be some of mine out there soon. It is a traditional looking greenland style kayak, built in a non traditional manner. The frame is made with trusses like bridgework. The Frame is held together with epoxy and brass screws. The canvas is stapled on with Monel staples and the seams are covered with rub rails. It also has an external wood keel. I didn't use oil paint for the canvas, I used Elast-o-Seal and Snow-Roof, followed by a latex color coat on the deck. At a distance it looks like a store bought fiberglass kayak, but up close you can tell that it is not.
