There's a lot more smoke than fire. The two prior responses describe the situation very well, but I'll throw in a "second" on CLC quality: no problems. The folks there are always quick to answer questions and do so courteously. I live locally, and was badgering them for details for quite a while --- no problems, a professional but informal shop.
Can't speak to Pygmy's reputation. I built --- actually, am still building --- from a kit. North Bay --- killer boat! Very fast. My regular boat is a VCP Pintail, and I've been at this sport for nine years.
