Well, I finished the first stages of building my Arctic Tern, and now just need to do the hatches and varnish it.
However, I realized while paddling it that there is one major problem, it only fits one, and I need another boat for my wife and newly arrived son, so I am getting set to build a Guillemot Double...
My question is this:
I have drawn out by hand all of the forms (not too difficult really!), and am getting set to place the holes for the strongback.
However, on page 57 of Nick's wonderful book, it advises to place the 2x4 strongback 2" higher than the design waterline (DWL).
On the next page, there is a drawing of the end forms indicating, to my tired and blurry eyes, that the strongback cutout bottom is on the DWL, instead of 2" above it.
Can someone reconcile this for me, or advise me the best position for the strongback? Thank you very much!
