I draw all my boat's with Hull designer from Carlson Design http://www.carlsondesign.com/ it is a great, plain and free program. It is simple to us and makes nice looking lines. The program is great for plain boats. Not like K1's. But my latest race (5.5 knots) sea kayak is drawn with Hulls. So it can produce fast boats to.

I also us a program from Mariner kayaks and Matt Broze version of John Winters Kaper. John Winters has a great site . with a lot of good information.

But to have some us of all those programs you must have some base knowledge in boat designing. Area curves and stuff like that.

To design your own kayaks is quit cool and great fun
