George claims to earn a living selling his boats commercially. If other individuals were to sell their own boats, it would be a threat to his livelyhood. He has a vested interest in discouraging all others from ever selling their own boats.

Actually, it does. Most people who purchase kit cars, or restore cars, do not get back out of the sale their investment costs. Similarly house renovations. If you factor in your building time into that boat (which includes trips to the stores and all those hours studying), you probably will not get your moneys worth out of it. However, most people regard the time spent building a boat (or other endevor they enjoy) as discounted, and do not factor it in.

Motor freight, with a *very* strong crate, and adequate insurance.

Do a bill of sale that contains the words "as is". You would do well to include wording that makes it explicitly clear that there is no warranty, no assurance of suitability, and that the purchaser does not hold you liable for damages, injury or satisfaction. Most of this will not hold up in a court of law, but it does tend to shield you from having a person ever bother to start proceedings against you in many cases. This is not implying that your boat is flawed in any way, it's simply to help protect you.
