Hello all,
Last weekend I painted the hull of my Chessie 16 wit high build primer and a top coat of Interlux. Mixed results. THe paint went on well enough, but the job is far from perfect. Two problems: brush marks due to the foam brush, excess biuld-up of paint along lines where fresh paint was applied next to areas that had already begun to tack up. I put on two coats of interlux and tried different schemes to avoid the latter problem, but with little success (perfectly smooth).
So I'd be interested in succesful painting schemes. Also, of course I'm going to wet-sand the entire hull before the next coat. I'm considering two approaches for the final coat: spray enamel or wax. I'd only wax over a contiguous layer of Interlux, so the wax would not be on primer.
I'd be interested in hearing about anyone's experience using either approach.
Thanks in advance,
Barry
