Everybody laughed at Magellan when he thought the world was round. I have seen lots of good advice from George, and I've seen him make a lot of people mad. He's right though, in that most of us dont test our panels. I'd think though, that if all these boats out here were crap, somebody else would have a horror story out there. I've only heard one. George might make a lot of people mad, but I for one miss his engineering posts.

Here's what I'd like to see a concensus on, fill in the blanks: A production composite boat's materials have a design failure strength of _____ psi. A typical 6oz / 1/4" strip / 6oz layup has a failure of ____ psi. 4oz / 4oz / 1/4" strips / 4oz has a failure strength of ___ psi. Ditto for working strength. I dont know the answers. Any takers?
