I'm far from an expert, but the paint job on my Coho came out OK. I assume you put the paint on with an epoxy roller -- a very thin coat is what you want. I only did about 1.5 horizontal feet at a time, the height of the boat, and then quickly brushed the bubbles out with a 2 or 3-inch foam brush -- if you're getting ridges from the brush, the paint must have already dried somewhat. And only use one stroke to smooth the bubbles -- if you go back and forth, you get ridges. If you have excess build up of paint, sounds like you might be putting it on too thick -- or perhaps not keeping a wet edge. The vertical wet edge on the hull is the only place your roller or brush should ever overlap, and not very much of that.
Hope this helps,
Tom
